Do you know how to open a bottle of wine? It may seem like one of those intuitive things you just know how to do. On the contrary, opening wine can take some practice, coordination, and a bit of direction.
For the smoothest opening experience, you’ll need a corkscrew. We also recommend a foil cutter for the cleanest cut, but the blade of the corkscrew will also do the trick. Here's the step by step breakdown!
How to Open A Wine Bottle
Carefully cut the foil with the blade of your corkscrew or foil cutter
Remove foil
Center the corkscrew and insert
Screw into the cork about 6.5 turns (leave a little screw peeking out!)
Place the first “step” of the lever onto the rim
Pull up
When half of the cork is out, place the second “step”
Pull up…
And cheers!
What if I forgot my corkscrew?
