According to Out Not Down, LGBTQ+ youth are two times more likely than their peers to have been physically assaulted, kicked or shoved at school. Shockingly, 40% of homeless teens in the U.S. were actually thrown out onto the streets by their own parents after coming out.
Work needs to be done to protect LGBTQ+ youth across the globe, and the It Gets Better project is laying the groundwork for change.
The It Gets Better organization works to amplify inspiring stories of resilience and hope, while connecting young LGBTQ+ people to educational resources and an ever expanding network of mentors and allies.
